All businesses apart from the most essential ones have been ordered to be closed across the Italian nation in a bid to tighten the lockdown after nearly 800 people died from COVID-19 on Saturday.
“Only production activities deemed vital for national production will be allowed,” the Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte said in a video posted to Facebook, but did not go into detail on the proposals to come into force via emergency decree on Sunday.
Exactly 793 deaths were recorded on Saturday, March 21st 2020 according to official reports across Italy. Also, France, Germany and Spain are already reporting a surge in the number of reported cases.
Since the outbreak of COVID – 19 on the 31st of December, 2020, nearly 13,000 have died accoridng to the data gathered by John Hopkins University with almost 92,000 recovering from the outbreak as at the time this post was written.
