DJ Zinhle Biography
Ntombezinhle Jiyane was born in Dannhauser, KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on the 30th of December, 1980. Her mother’s name is Jabu Jiyane and is blessed with two (2) siblings, Gugu Jiyane (female/sister) and Zak Jiyane (male/brother).
She attended Siyamukela High School, Emadadeni, Newscastle for her secondary school education. After she completed high school, Zinhle who is also known as Her Majesty proceeded to the University of Johannesburg (UJ) to get a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing.
Career
She started out professionally in 2004 but never wanted to be a disc jockey rather a TV present but eventually started as a DJ. Her first big break came while she was a resident DJ on SABC1’s youth dance show, Jika Majika.
Since then she has headlined different shows such as the 2019 Zimfest live concert which was held in the United Kingdom. Her 2019 hit single, “Umililo” has since been certified 3x platinum by RiSA.
DJ Zinhle has also shown her acting prowess as she has appeared on Rhythm City, eKasi: Our Stories, and others.
Personal Life
She has been romantically linked to the popular rapper, AKA in the past but called it quits after she accused him of cheating on her with fellow South African celebrity, Bonang Matheba. Africa’s number one female DJ has two children. They are Kairo Owethu Forbes (with AKA) and Ashante (with Murda Bongz).
