Siyabonga Nene was born on the 17th of April, 1987 in Bergville, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.
His childhood music was influenced by Maskandi and Scathamiya but his greatest influence came from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Phuzekemisi, and Imithende. This led him to want a taste of the showbiz lifestyle.
Career
Prior to music, he was a cab driver in SA but started his music journey in 2009 with the Inkabi rap genre. It was with this music genre he started rapping and songwriting.
He was an indie artiste until Universal Music took notice of him and was able to work with bigger names in the industry such as Cassper Nyovest and Emtee. Under Universal Music, he debuted his album in 2018 and in that same year was signed as Brentwood’s ambassador.
Also, he has been able to carve a name for himself in acting. He has starred in Mzansi spies such as Isibaya and Uzalo.
Asides from his professional side, the musician has two children, a son with another woman and a daughter with the woman he is currently with, Lebogang Makenete. He has been accused of assaulting his wife severally which has led to their separation.
